Valeria Necchio was born and raised in the Venetian countryside in Northern Italy. In introvert at heart, she has always had a penchant for writing, documenting and self-reflection.

After earning a BA in English and Cultural Studies and a MA in Food Culture and Communications, Valeria left her native Veneto for London, where she worked in communications for the food and hospitality industry for over five years. All the while, she pursued writing and photography professionally, writing a blog (Life Love Food, now closed) and contributing stories on matters of food, culture, and travel to a variety of publications.

Her words and images have appeared in Monocle, The Guardian, The Art of Eating, National Geographic Traveller, Corriere della Sera, and D di Repubblica, among others.

Valeria’s debut cookbook, Veneto, a recipe-book-slash-memoir on the food of her origins, was published by Faber in 2017.

In 2021, she moved to Venice, where she has soon become an active member of the local cultural and creative community. Aside from working as a writer, essayist and copywriter, she consults on editorial and communications projects for Inside Venice and Edipo Re, and she is a part of the female-led professional network How Do We Meet and of the creative work club Versatile.
